Waterproof material is a layer of film covering the outside of the structure, with high-density impermeability, high elasticity, aging resistance and other functions, when painted on the surface of the structure (the surface facing the water), even if a small earthquake occurs, it will not break and cause water seepage.
The first step is to determine the location and cause of the leak, which usually includes the roof, wall, and bathroom. The cause of water leakage is usually the cracking of the structure, which can be avoided by choosing the right waterproofing material for the construction. If the water is leaking day and night or rain or shine, it may be a plumbing leak, which must be handled by a professional.

Roof:
Rainwater often remains on the surface of the structure, and the waterproofing material can withstand water pressure in addition to its general waterproofing properties.
Wall:
The surface to be painted is vertical, and the waterproofing material can avoid dripping in addition to its general waterproofing properties.
Bathroom and Sink:
High water pressure, waterproofing materials in the form of laminated construction, that is, waterproofing materials on the outside of the tile or cement.
If the roof is made of tile or foam cement instead of cement floor, you can select one of our primers (for detailed product introduction, please go to Product on the website page) to cover the painted surface to increase the adhesion, and then choose the appropriate waterproofing material to apply to avoid blistering or peeling of the waterproofing material. If the ground is already covered with asphalt and you want to use non-asphalt waterproofing material instead, you can also follow the above application methods.
If the wall is a tile or stone surface, you can directly use K1-107 or K1-907, or select one of our primers (for detailed product introduction, please go to Product on the website page) and apply it to the painted surface to increase the adhesion, and then choose the appropriate waterproofing material to apply to avoid blistering or peeling of the waterproofing material.
The function of primer is to increase the adhesion between the structure and the surface adhesive, seal the substrate to increase the alkali resistance and increase the coating rate of the top coat. The topcoat is the main waterproof layer. Please refer to the description of each product category for its characteristics.
If the surface to be painted is very rough, it may not be easy to paint and to penetrate, so the diultion is needed to solve such problem. Normally, no more than 10% of dilution is allowed to any waterproofing paint.
Blistering is due to the waterproofing material and the structure is not tightly connected, mostly caused by the following reasons:
1. When the structure is not fully dry before application.
2. The structure is not a plain ground.
3. Paint membrane is too thick.
Quick Solution:
If there are blisters, cut the blisters with a razor blade and reapply primer and topcoat.
When the waterproof layer is not yet broken, we recommended to clean the surface of the waterproof layer every 2-3 years and then reapply the topcoat with 1-2 layers.
Waterborne coatings are mainly composed of resins, and generally we use emulsions. Emulsions are polymers with hydrophobic and hydrophilic ends. When the paint film dries, the exposed end is not necessarily the hydrophobic end, so when the hydrophilic end comes into contact with water, it does not repel water and causes discoloration of the paint film. Therefore, water-based products are not recommended to be coated too thinly, because the coating layer needs to have enough hydrophobic ends to cover the painted surface in order to achieve a good waterproof effect.
